Cancer Care has been aggressively working towards serving the underprivileged section of the society by extending financial and emotional aid, supporting them to fight against the dreaded disease. Time and again, Cancer Care has organised many events and is consistently organising different fairs to further the cause and widen the range of lending hands.
'We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.' These lines motivated Cancer Care’s team to bring ‘everyone' together to aid and support cancer afflicted lives and to raise social capital for supporting the treatment of cancer patients. This is when Cancer Care came up with the idea of Care Fair in the year 1999.
Till the year 2008, it successfully organized 9 Fairs at different venues, all with different themes like Rajasthani Mela’, ‘Dhoom Machade Dhoom – Antarakshari’, ‘Sharadotsav’, and ‘Goonj Uthi Shehnai.’ A large number of personalities, including politicians Mrs Pratibha Patil, Mr Ashok Gehlot, Mrs Usha Poonia, Mr Annu Kapoor, and Ms. Pallavi Joshi, to name a few, graced these fairs every year. These fairs showcased cancer awareness exhibitions to propagate the understanding about the alarming ailment amongst visitors, cancer patients and their families.
